April 2027 TBA- Rimini, Italy with Gianluca Reggiani –Hoping we might offer a Chekhov Studios Cooperative Event, Gianluca and I had so much fun playing Chekhov with a large group of wonderful Italian artists this past April. We want to do it again!

Just Back from: WESTWARD HO!

April brought me on an amazing road trip across the western US with a family-inspired trip-Hanging with cousin Thea in LA for Judge Michael Pastor’s Celebration of Life…

…and to visit my Utah-thriving granddaughter Payge, meeting 8-month-old great granddaughter Murphy, visiting with 2.5-year-old GGson Campbell, and Grandson-in-law, Matt.

Along the way, I connected with Chekhov buddies and Soulmates: Lunch with Wil in Las Cruces, NM, where we solidified our next Routledge Publication: Directing the Michael Chekhov Way: A Playbook with SynthAnalysis. Then to Arizona for a theatre break.

I witnessed Elise Marie Selah, long-time NMCA alumnus and MC Goddaughter, at the opening of Prince of Egypt at the Mesa Arts Center, AZ, where audiences were thrilled by the beauty, precision, polarities and dynamics (and fabulous Rock Gardens!!!) that Elise directed her young cast in, that radiated to a wowed, standing-room-only crowd. See pic of Elise and me above!!! Yes, we cried… a lot…beauty does that!

Special Visit on May 4 to Kenny’s heavenly home site in Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Hollywood Hills, CA, on our 46th anniversary with Pauola and Teo, Orly, Thea, and Lori. THANK YOU, my chosen Family!

Hanging with MA LA brother Michael, con-temple-ating Life!

Dining in Burbank with dear friends, Orly, Charlyn, Thea, Bobbie (aka Sissie), pictured above. And off to Bryce Canyon.

THEN the ANNAs!

Inhaled Bell Canyon, Salt Lake, UT, hiking with Matthew Ivan Bennett, an award-winning playwright, NMCA Certified Actor Candidate. Saw the closing night of Annapurna, which Matthew directed, beautifully, I might add! The next day, we went with his lovely wife to see Burcu Seyben’s production of Anna Karenina in Twin Falls, Idaho. More wonderful rock gardens and polarities abounded.

Big Kudos on these endeavors. It is so inspiring and encouraging to see the creativity and joy our alumni are bringing into the world through their actors, to their audiences.

Wandered off-road a bit to test the Wilderness Crosstrek in a late-afternoon–more challenging than the lovely ladies at the Moab Info Center implied—that shallow slippery sand got real deep in many places and chunkyrocks rose up sharply and plentifully, yet love surmounted them, one tire at a time, as the sun so swiftly set!

and on to Mesa Verde before coming home to prep the summer adventures! I was priviledge to be part of this young park ranger’s very first tour in a National Park. He hopes for a lifetime more of them and I believe he aquitted himself admirably!
